Welcome to Advanced Storage and Device Administration in Linux! This course is designed to cover the storage-related topics and utilities that are necessary when administering a Linux system. First, we will discuss redundancy and recovery as it pertains to RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks). This includes the understanding the various RAID levels, configuring a software RAID, and managing failover and recovery. Next, we will cover the various types of physical storage and the connections that are used to transfer data. Then, we will discover how to share storage over a network by configuring an iSCSI target and an initiator. Finally, we will learn about Logical Volume Manager (LVM) and how we can use it to group block storage into one logical unit that will give us greater flexibility in allocating storage on the host.
This is designed to be a stand-alone course but is also part of the LPIC-2 201 exam learning path.
