This weekend, I learned a course and obtained the certificate on Six sigma foundation, instructed by Dr Richard Chua Dr. Richard Chua on LinkedIn Learning.
As the name suggests, this course introduces the foundations or fundamentals on six sigma. It is a fantastic and funny course and I like it. I recommend it to you. And thank Dr Chua Dr. Richard Chua.
In this course, I learned a lot of fundamental knowledge on six sigma, 1) What is six sigma? 2) six sigma phases: DMAIC; 3) what are the 5 belts on six sigma system, 4) SIPOC diagram, 5) Cause-effect diagram, 6) FMEA, 7) Ishikawa Fish bone Diagram, and many other interesting and helpful concepts and examples.
Six sigma is a philosophy, striving to perfection; is a performance metric, pursuing near perfect quality; is a methodology, looking for improvement.
The 5 phases of six sigma includes: DMAIC, Design, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control.
The 5 belts of six sigma system are White, Yellow, Green, Black, Master Black belt. After talking these basic concepts, the course was taught around the formation of six sigma team and the 5 phases of six sigma: DMAIC.
Once identify the six sigma project, a six sigma team will be formed, including champion, project leader and team members.
